Objective:

The scheme offers financial incentives to boost domestic manufacturing of Advanced Automotive Technology products and attract investments in the automotive manufacturing value chain. Prime objectives of the scheme include overcoming cost disabilities, creating economies of scale, generating employment, building a robust supply chain in areas of Advanced Automotive Technology products and facilitating the Automobile Industry to move up the value chain into higher value added products.

Target Segments

The scheme is sub-divided into Champion OEM Incentive Scheme and Component Champion Incentive Scheme. The Champion OEM Incentive scheme is a ‘sales value linked’ scheme, applicable on Battery Electric Vehicles and Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicles of all segments – 2 wheelers, 3 wheelers, passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, Tractors, Automobile meant for Military use and any other Advanced Automotive Technology vehicle as prescribed by MHI depending upon technical developments. The list of eligible Advanced Automotive Technology components will be prescribed by MHI. The list can be amended by MHI from time to time depending upon technological developments.

Quantum of Incentive:

The Scheme has a budgetary outlay of ₹25,938 crore, for incentives. Total Incentive per entire Group company(ies) is capped at ₹6,485 crore.

Tenure of the Scheme

Incentive will be applicable on Determined Sales Value starting from Financial Year 2022-23 for a total of five consecutive financial years i.e. till FY2026-27.
